With a reasonable price, easy installation, and noticeable results, those looking for an easy upgrade to their towing-workhorse may find that the FireStone Ride-Rite Air Spring System is the way to go. The inflatable, air-based system offers a plethora of improvements compared to traditional leaf spring applications, including increased leveling, stability, and maximum payload capacity when towing, and a softer, more comfortable ride when not towing.

As with most budget-conscious upgrades, the difference between pre and post installation aren't very noticeable. Not so with FireStone's new airbag system. While it does not increase payload or hauling capabilities, it does maximize your current vehicles performance, and that alone is well worth the few hundred dollars for the cost of the system. Everything is included in the kit to get up and running, including nuts, bolts, brackets, air springs, air line, and manual inflation valves. We recommend the addition of the electronic inflation valve control, which allows for easier inflation and deflation on-the-fly as needed per road or hauling conditions from the comfort of your driver's seat. Only standard tools are required in order to install the kit, and it takes only a few hours for a moderately experienced weekend-warrior to complete mounting.

Once the system was hooked up, an immediate improvement was noticed. Ride comfort is easily adjusted with the control unit, and towing or not, in-cab comfort was noticeably better. In addition, since Ride-Rite is part of your already preexisting suspension system, the ride is familiar, but with far greater capabilities. For all applications, vehicles ride much steadier and with more confidence on uneven roads and long trips where unwanted effects such as porpoising (when the tow-vehicle pitches up at the same time the trailer or fifth-wheel pitches down) can be easily corrected with the addition of a few extra PSI of air into the bags. Commercial vehicles, or those who often have heavy payloads in the bed of their trucks will notice the ability to add more gear, dirt, metal, or whatever it is that they haul with minimal difference. Since the bags can be inflated individually, we could increase the pressure in the back to even out the ride height while still maximizing the payload ability in the bed.

If you are considering an affordable upgrade for your rig, make sure you take a look at the FireStone Ride-Rite Air Spring System. The convenience and capabilities that this kind of addition offer are priceless, whether it be for the casual camper, or the general contractor, or anyone in between; there aren't too many products that offer both ride improvement and increased capability, and that makes this system a great all-around package.
