    What research says

These motorcycle riding boots are made to look stylish while at the same time offering the rider protection in the most important places like the shin, ankle, and toe, but there are some problems that caused us to give this boot a lower score.

The sonic boot is great looking and does offer protection whether you're touring on pavement or riding trails. However they are not made for durability. The soles wear out quickly and often come off after several months. In warmer climate they can get rather warm, and the top of the boot can be irritating to the skin if you don't wear high enough socks.

The extra protection they offer to the shin area will only protect against mild hitting and rubbing. The top of the boot can be a little too stiff for some riders.

The Joe Rocket Sonic riding boots have some nice features, but they don't score as well as some other crossover boots featured in previous reviews for the same price range.
